A Handy List of Free Firewalls

A Firewall is a hardware and/or software which is used to protect your computer or network from doing unauthorized access to Internet, other networks and computers on a network along with authorizing legitimate communication on a network and Internet. You can set different sets of rules for your firewall to handle data transfer over the network. At the moment, I am putting transfer of data handling on one side and will write about Free Firewall software. This list consists of some really good firewalls which, if you can not afford purchased ones, should be part of your computer.

NetVeda Safety.Net 3.8:
I like this firewall. I have tested it on Windows XP Pro along with Avast AntiVirus 4.8 home edt. You can compared it to any other purchased firewall. It is very light and hides you completely on any network. I rated it no.1 over all other firewalls. The best is it is free. Recommended for Windows XP Pro.

This is also a very good firewall. The only annoying thing is it takes some time at system startup but its data scanning speed is really marvelous. Recommended for Windows 7 x86 (RTM, RC).
